However, the VA (Department of Veterans Affairs) requires evidence to support the claim of being unable to work. So, where can we get this evidence? We can gather information from relatives who believe you are unable to work, co-workers who think you can no longer your previous duties, and former employers who may have had to let you go due to your inability to fulfill your job responsibilities. While this information can be helpful, it is important to understand how it can be translated into evidence, which can be a challenging task for those applying for unemployability benefits. Another potential source of evidence is your doctors. It would be beneficial if they state in writing or in their medical notes that you are unable to engage in substantial gainful activity, also known as work. However, even if your doctors provide this opinion, the VA has its own doctors who conduct Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams to reevaluate and reassess your ability to work based on their own records and evaluations.
